Before Uploading Please Read
Before Uploading to CS3 PLEASE READ:
Thank you for choosing CS3 to host your Sims 3 custom content. Anyone is welcome to post here as long as they are active on the forum and will support their creations and those creations fit within CS3's site guidelines. - Unless the forum breaks, all files and images for sharing custom content EXCEPT world files need to be uploaded to the forum instead of using off-site file hosting sites. - All content that you share on CS3 will be freely available for world builders to use in their world, providing they link back to Custom Sims 3. - CS3 is a child-friendly site so please don't upload anything not suitable for children. - Do not post anything you didn't create unless it is part of your creation (ie: a clothing item on a Sim or object in a house in a separate file within the archive) and only if the original creators allows file-sharing. If your creation has more than two items of custom content, please refer potential downloaders to the site from which the download originally came. - Under no circumstances should pay content from any site ever be posted with an upload. - Any images you upload may be used for purposes of promoting Custom Sims 3. Several sites have forums for creators to post to let others know what they have uploaded, so please feel free to promote your uploads in those forums. - Before posting be prepared to support what you upload. Check back for potential bug reports occasionally. If files are uploaded then abandoned they may be removed. Preparing Your Upload - Take screenshots: If you are in full-screen mode do not use Print Screen, use the in-game camera (if you don't see the camera icon press the C key--this works in CAS as well as in-game). Print Screen will work fine in windowed mode but do NOT use it in full-screen mode. - Edit screenshots: Resize and/or crop images to show what you want emphasized in each image. Images should be no more than 800 pixels wide and 700 pixels tall (these dimensions are not exact measurements, but keeping both width and height within those measurements will give nice pictures without huge file sizes). If you are new to image editing, Dantes has written an image editing tutorial you may find useful. - Archive your file or files: CS3 is set to accept either .7z, .gz, .rar, .tar, and .zip files. Multiple files can be added to a single archive. I recommend using 7Zip because it is completely free and has one of the highest compression ratios available. It is available here. - Post a new thread for each upload or group of uploads. - Choose a Post Icon (found just below the subject line) that matches which version of the game what you are uploading is compatible with. - Use appropriate "smilies" for your creation at the beginning of your post. These images can be accessed by clicking [get more] under Smilies. Objects: Sims, Lots, & Worlds: =Uses no custom content =Uses free custom content (this includes EA store freebies) =Uses custom content that is sold via subscription, site donation, or EA store content.Appropriate icons are available for stuff packs as well. - Create the body of your thread with as much description as you feel necessary. - Attaching the files: Scroll past the post box until you see a box marked "Attachments" with a "browse" button to the right of it. For now only one file can be uploaded at a time so once you've selected the file, click the "Add Attachment" button. Repeat the process as necessary for all of your attachments, preferably putting images first and files last or if there are multiple files with specific images, they can be grouped together for in-line posting. Once an attachment is uploaded, a button will appear under the "Add Attachment" button labeled "Insert Into Post". Have the cursor resting in your post where you want the attachment to be placed and click the button. - File Size Limits: Images: 200 kb each Archives: 6 MB each Total allowed per thread: 12 attachments, 10 MB - Post: Click the "Post Thread" button and you should be done! P.S. You can also find a few additional details in this thread. |
