With the lastest patch, intended to make nonAmbition players games compatible with the Ambitions EP comes a whole new way of installing custom content that comes in *.package format.
Move your mods to a safe place and uninstall any framework installers.
Once you're ready to open the "My Documents\Electronic Arts\Sims3\" and create a sub-folder called "Mods"
Now create sub folders to help you keep your CC organized. Some examples may be:
My Documents\Electronic Arts\Sims3\Mods\Doors
My Documents\Electronic Arts\Sims3\Mods\Windows
My Documents\Electronic Arts\Sims3\Mods\CASPatterns
Now create a text file in the "Mods" folds called My Documents\Electronic Arts\Sims3\Mods\Resource.cfg
Edit this file to have an entry for each sub-folder, It should follow a format such as follows:
Priority -789
PackedFile [Folder Name]/*.package
PackedFile [Folder Name]/*.package
PackedFile [Folder Name]/*.package
where [Folder Name] is the name of a sub-folder you made.
an example file might look like :
Priority -789
PackedFile Doors/*.package
PackedFile Windows/*.package
PackedFile CASPatterns/*.package
That should do it.
