We had a similar thread on the old forum, it was a TON of fun! If you're working on a project you'd like to show off, post here! :cheesy:

Hi everyone!:D Hope this is the right forum to show this lot. I just finished this lot and at some later date, I might redo it so it has no CC in it for a later submission here, but thought some might like to see it now. Would love your feedback.Sunshine

Oh, Judy, that is so pretty! Of course I am a bit biased because you tend to use colors and styles in your builds that I love.

Thanks so much, Regina. I do love to use color in my lots. Glad you liked this one. I might submit it later when I can get the CC out of it.
That is nice! I have to agree with Regina that you have a wonderful sense for aesthetic value when it comes to colors, absolutely wonderful. :cloud9:

Thanks, Tontrin...you both are so kind with your sweet comments.
Very lovely house Judy ! The siding colour is gorgeous, I love decorating in soft greens like that :)

These are a couple of shots of the house I was working on over the last two days. I don't know if anyone remembers it, but I often found myself using the large farmhouse from the sims 2 lots & houses bin. Aptly named "Family Farmhouse", I used it a lot in Riverblossom Hills, and I really liked it, so I decided to recreate it for TS3.

It isn't quite finished yet, it needs more landscaping, and only the downstairs rooms are furnished at the moment.

It looks good so far Pary! I always liked that house too. I can't wait to see it when you've finished it. Sunshine:coolthumbup:You rock

Thanks, Pary, yours is looking good, also.
Ooh yeah, I liked that house! I only used it once or twice, mainly because back then I had more time and built as I went along. I still managed to redo several of those lot bin houses.

Of course I saw today where Rflong is redoing Longview and it's one of my favorites because it's so darned roomy, so once she finishes that I'll be on the prowl for a bunch of different lots!
Oooohhh, nice work, ladies! Very pretty, Judy Sims. And Pary, I love the farmhouse! It would look perfect in that farming section of Longview. :wave3:

(I love this cow. And you need him on that farm!) :cheesy:

ETA: I thought I would share a few screenshots of the lot I am working on; suggestions are welcome. I am working on a lot I am calling a "community college". It will have skill building items for sims just starting out, or sims who just like to go meet other sims. I am thinking about rebuilding it because it seems a bit too large to me; not the lot but the building, although the lot might work better if it were smaller, too. Currently it's on a 35x35 lot.

This building is very loosely based on a community college that just opened a brand new campus in the town where I work. It is mostly flat roofed and one story, but there are some modern elements such as a rather large, soaring asymetrical roof section over the center portion. Of course the real thing has windows in the upper section. Maybe someday we'll get two story windows for TS3! I miss those. :-/

Here is an outside shot of it. There are a couple of chess tables in the outdoor area, along with seating.

The pic below shows the entrance area with the reception and 'business office', and what could be a college advisor's office. Opposite of this, not shown, are restrooms. I know the colors are pretty bland, but then so is the college I modeled this after!

Moving down the hallway there is a lounge/study area for the students, shown below:

Just past the stairway is a small (as of yet undecorated) area with a books register and a food register.

And just beyond this is the PC lab.

Here is an overview shot of the upstairs. On the lower right side are the art/drafting "classroom". On the other side to that is the sculpting studio. In front of these two rooms is the inventing classroom, with a small restroom with a few showers for those sims who insist on setting themselves on fire. Also available around the inventing room are showers in a can!

On the left are two general purpose classrooms with some desks and tables. These could be used for whatever you want, maybe even a future daycare? Or the PC lab could be moved up here and the daycare could be downstairs. We'll have to wait and see how that profession works, of course! Maybe it would work better as an experimental chemistry lab.

So, like I said, feedback and comments are welcome!
I love it Tangie ! It looks fantastic, and is a really great idea, rather than only having a library in town.
By the way, I tried to PM you but you have PM's disabled.
Love the pics of both houses that are posted and think the concept for the community college is great! That building could have other applications once Generations is released. Really great idea, Tangie.
Tangie, that's awesome! I built a dormitory similarly (although way different design) for University once I had enough expansion packs to make it worth it. The uni students only ever attended two classes during all the time they were in college, just the first day and once again after they declared their majors. Instead, they wrote a term paper, chatted up their professors, and worked hard on skills at the dorm. I've deleted the schools from my TS3 towns and could definitely see using something like this in its place (although I will at some point put Twallan's Home School mod in). Now if we had a visitor controller it would be most spectacular, so just certain ages could have access to the buildings. :hmm:
This is a great idea, Tangie. I will have to think of this as a future project. Good job.:thumbsup1:
