I wanted a little project on the side of my large Sunset Valley remake so I decided to start on a smaller world, after all those are my specialty.

So I browsed my CAW folders and found an empty island that I thought it would be fun to do something with.

An overview of the island. A little bigger than my usually tiny islands, but still pretty small.

[attachment=6024]
The world has no name yet but its three keywords are: Modern, Efficient, Environmentally Friendly.

[attachment=6025]
The town centre is this helipad. Since it's an island there must be a way to get off it and I had no space for a harbour or airport so I ended up with helicopters.

This building uses Jynx's rabbithole doors for the hospital and stadium since I thought those two were places you probably would go to the mainland to visit.

I also thought that it would be cool to make a custom fly-over when the world is loaded that made you feel like you approached the island with a helicopter and landed.

This is the city hall, mostly just basic decoration there right now. You can enter through the water arches, or if you don't want to get wet there is sidewalk on the sides.

[attachment=6027]
I thought that since the island is very much centered around environmental engineering there should be a local company that works with that. So here it is, and with an associated science lab. I put robot fish spawners in the pond at the entrance.

[attachment=6028]
The office is the one from Bridgeport so it has a bistro aswell. On the back of the building they have a terrace where you can enjoy the views... if you ignore the wind turbines.

[attachment=6029]
The Town Life grocery store fit in perfectly here. There is a community garden in front of it where sims can harvest apples, plums, cherries and limes.

[attachment=6030]
This is Old Main Street, my favourite part of the town. Probably because it is the most finished one. Laughtingoutloud_32x32 The houses might not look very old but the park is the remnants of the old main street which was a little narrower than the modern streets. They also used to travel by trams in this town before (nowadays electric car is the way to get around) and one of those were saved and renovated as a restaurant.

[attachment=6031]
All households in town should be, or at least look like they are, self-sufficient. Therefore, all houses get solar panels and a Renault Twizy for free!

I will place that charging station somewhere in town aswell so that the cars make sense.

[attachment=6032]
Last but not least, this is the beach where the ocean fish spawners and maybe a little beach lot will be.

What do you think? Any suggestions for a name?
Neat idea Gurra. My name suggestion is Ecoxia: Eco for the Environmentally Friendly part and Xia mean sun and it will be a nice sunny island. Kinda odd I know.
I was doing some work in CAW yesterday but I didn't get to posting it then so here is an update of yesterday's work. :) And I like that name, Sookielee, but I'm not sure. I will add it to my name list though. ;)

[attachment=6034]
An overview, the road layout was slightly changed and street lights added.

[attachment=6035]
The town has got a charging station for their electric cars.

[attachment=6036]
I re-did the City Hall lot because I wasn't totally satisfied and now it turned out like this. Simple and not too bad. I fit in the bookstore on the lot too. Also, you can harvest some fruits and vegetables on the sides where you walk up to the city hall.

[attachment=6037]
The town theatre, nothing special...

[attachment=6038]
Sunflower Spa. :)

[attachment=6039]
This old house was supposed to be bulldozed years ago but it still stands as a memory of old times... some say that there is still activity inside, though. This is the town's criminal hideout, and I like it. Notice the old windmill, they liked it eco-friendly in the former days too. ;)

A closer overview on the area I worked on in this update. I'm not sure about the theatre lot though... it feels odd that the back of the theatre and the front of the spa are towards the same direction. It just... doesn't look right. But it would look odd with the back of the theatre facing the city hall too. I will have to think about it.
Love the story with the criminal hideout - perfect! Really enjoyed the update. As far as my name suggestion, no worries I new when I posted it was kind of out there. I am sure you will come up with the most ideal name.
Here is a little update of some work I did on this world today...

So this is what the town looks like so far.

[attachment=6057]
The island has got a school and that means it has all the base game rabbit holes except for the mausoleum (which will be placed later) now. By that I mean all the rabbit hole types from base game, not the actual buildings from base game. This school is the one from Town Life, for example.

I didn't really like the theatre where it was so I threw it away and put this residential area here instead. It's the same type of housing as the other residential area downtown. Well, everything here is downtown but these are very central, so to speak.

There is also a park in the middle of the houses which I haven't decided what to do with yet.

[attachment=6059]
The theatre got this new lot beside the city hall and bookstore.

[attachment=6060]
Sunset at the beach.

Island at night.

[attachment=6062]
Foggy morning.

An overview. This will actually be my largest world (so far) that is 100% made by myself. Sunshine Sunhaven, Eastport and Crestview are also only my own creations but those are smaller.
I am glad I got Town Life now, I don't normally play small worlds, but I might have to take this cutie for a spin when it is done. You are doing a great job.
Love the "solar" idea ... wish I could get those for FREE Laughtingoutloud_32x32 I'm actually trying to add some "solar" technology to RL ... I just got my "Solar Oven" .... not kidding you one little bit! Great little island ....
Wow, you've really put a lot into the space on this island Gurra. It looks good so far. Sunshine I love the idea for the helipad. Quite clever, that. I'll second a motion for Sookielee's name for the island. I like odd names, especially in my sims games. After all, they speak simlish, don't they?
I love this world! You are an amazing builder!!!
Love the world and the modern element of it all. What about just a fun name like Twizy Island? Not too imaginative, but catchy.Wink_32x32
I was wondering when this beautiful world will be finished and downloadable ...
I haven't been working in CAW for some time and the recent CAW version brought several errors so I have completely stopped any projects until an update to avoid these...
