Custom Sims 3

Requires All Expansion Packs: :WA: :am: :LN:

I wanted to make a World that was sort of Modern yet full of Magical creatures and so I got the idea to make Fairytopia, now this World has taken me about five months to get to the Alpha stage it was a lot of Work but I learned a lot.

I will tell you this World tends to be graphic intensive so be sure to have all the right system requierments and you need all the Sims 3 Expansions to play this World up to and including Late Night.


Fairytopia Story

When the year 2010 hit people started to worry, to fear the worst because the Calendar ended in the year 2012 . Due to this, predictions were made that the world as they knew it would somehow abruptly end by the year 2012.Then came the T4 Angel Virus, a deadly virus that on Jan 1, 2012 attached itself to a bioengineered tomato through a weak spot in its modified DNA that the researchers thought too minuscule to worry about.


It soon spread across the World killing 50% of the Human population, with the World at its worse the Supernatural’s, often thought to be creatures of Fantasy became a reality. They kept the World in balance because the T4 Angel Virus did not affect them. Six years later Witches, the Undead, trolls, pixies, fairies, Weres, living vamps and leprechauns lived among the remaining Humans in various places across the World one of those places is Fairytopia.


About Fairytopia

Fairytopia is my version of what a Fantasy Island would look like that was lived on by Human, Fey, Vampire and Trolls, it offers a place for all these Races however you will need to populate the World on your own.


Now I am including a Save Game File however there is no Sims in it, really it's just some last moment modifications I've done to the World like adding more Clubs, making sure it Works etc. You can play this World fine without the save File however it won't have any of the new Clubs I've placed and such in it.


Now in the middle of the World is a wall and this wall seperates the Trolls,and Vampires from the Human's and Fey. Regardless of this wall pretty well both sides have all the same Community Lot's.Some Lot's were built by me, others modified, others Downloaded CC free and so on. If a lot has been built or modified by me you'll see in the details ~Created by Sarrah~ or ~Modified by Sarrah~ I have also given credit for each Lot included in this World to it's original creator in the details about the Lot to the best of my ability.


Since Trolls and Vampires are not keen on Sunlight on their side of the World I've built Subways which connect all of their Community Lot's in hopes your Vampires can travel in the day without as much exposure to the Sunlight.


I've also put in a lot of starter homes and higher end homes as well, I've placed all rabbit holes, spawners and just about anything else that comes with Sims 3 and all it's Expansions. There is also plenty of empty Lot's for you to build on and there is a beach area over the Mountains for more homes if you like the beach and such.

Advice - Wow so many people gave me advice and ideas to name them all would take a long time so I'm just going to say thankyou too all of you who taught me about CAW, Layers, Custom Qualities Etc


Vegetation, lot placing, custom lot building, Spawners, custom lot modifying, Beta Version, Alpha Version -Sarrah


Changes From Beta to Alpha


1. Moved the street lamps off the roads to the side

2. Deleted the trees in the middle of the roads

3. Deleted any floating objects

4. Downgraded Plumbob Pictures from 64x64 to 40x40

5. Deleted the Fey Fusion Lounge and replaced it with a Music Center since there was no Music Center in the Beta and put a bathroom with the Music Center

6. Deleted the fencing around the Nectary and Nectary Garden this fixed the routing problem

7. Fixed Tredmill's in Fey Gym now Sims can use them

8. Put door in fire station and fire station bathroom and changed it a bit

9. Checked all houses for Fridge and stoves, made sure they had those

10. Unlocked all lot's for editing incase anyone want's to change them who plays the World

11. Made a few more cheap starter homes

12. Roads and road patches were fixed thankyou to auntielynds

I'm having problems with the way Downloads work on here, it won't let me put all the Download files as an Attachment in this post it keeps saying the files are too big and so on so I'm just going to put in the links to the Downloads sorry if this is a problem, if it is just remove this post. I can't post my World and everything that comes with it as Attachments on here and I also don't know how to make the images bigger when posting like this so sorry.

Sarrah, I wanted you to know that I downloaded and installed this, and it is absolutely beautiful! That waterfall is amazing! I moved a sim in to look at the world a bit more after looking at things in "Edit Town". While in live mode, the waterfall comes to life of course too. It's absolutely stunning. You did such a great job! :heart:

Some of the lots are amazing as well. I did want to let you know that some of the lots with little houses with the round roofs could use smoothing on their edges after having been placed in the world. Placing them made some really pointy edges. I realize that users can do that themselves, and I don't mind, since I have placed a lot of lots in worlds that I've had to do the same thing with. :D I just thought you might like to know in case you wanted to edit it.

You really worked hard on this, and the result is stunning. I love it! :wub:

Could you possibly give us some info about WHAT custom careers that is in that custom career zip file before we download it? :) Is it like fantasy careers? Have you made them yourself?

I did not make any of the careers as I'm not very good at stuff like that, but the Career file includes Careers made by Nekocat, NRaas and Gurra. Gurra made the Nectar Part Time Career where you can work part time as a Nectar taster and make money at it. Gurra also made the Part Time Subway Career where you make money working in the Subway. I thought these would fit in the World one for the Troll side and one for the Fey side.

NekoCat made custom careers for her world Venice Lagoon they are Glassblower, Fishermen, Lacemaker and Gondolier . I thought the Fishermen, Lacemaker would fit the Fey World and I am not sure what the Glassblower and Gondolier ones do. Now NRaas makes all kinds of interesting things some of the Careers made by NRaas were Mobster, Part Time, School, Self Employed, Data Tones, Unemployed. So to learn more about these see here http://www.the-isz.com/nraas/index.php?topic=126.0.

That is all I can tell you for now it has been a bit since I looked at this post but most of the Careers were just extra to give my World more flavor where as the Collector, Fishermen career I thought fit my Fey World.

However I did forget to give credit to these people for the custom careers, I didn't do that on purpose it just slipped my mind. However consider this post credit to all the great career makers out there.

NRaas career mods would add nicely to a world like this, as Twallan added new options to the self employed career list of the game that came with Ambitions. It even added an Angler career for your fisherman sims, and there are so many more that I can't list them all by memory. I really like this part of his career mod because I like my sims to be self employed and it lets me choose an option that fits different sims and their abilities better than just the in game options.

Now I'm confused. I don't have any of Twallan's modded career stuff and there's an angler career in my game since Ambitions. :shrug:

Oh, maybe that was in there and I just can't remember what Twallan added. I do know that without the mod, there are only a few self employment jobs for my sims and with it, there are a bunch of them.

Downloaded all files, installed and Sims 3 keep crashing?? did I do something wrong?? have installed many items but when time allows could you please xplain to me (and any other simpilton) where each files goes to ensure it runs..

Hi, I'm not Sarrah, but I can try to help until she comes by.

The world file needs to be extracted from the .zip archive and placed into My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Downloads then installed via the launcher. If you're using the save file it would also need extracted from the .zip archive then be placed in My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Saves.

Every so often I read of a world crashing someone's game like this, but it's not always that a single world does it, as in it's working for most people then someone has a problem like this.

One thing you should try is deleting all of the cache files in the My Documents are of the game. The more towns you play, the larger those get, and can eventually prevent the game from loading.

yes strange noone else seems to have a problem, I installed both the world and saved world file maybe thats what i did wrong will just install the world file and let the launcher do the rest this time...i probably fiddled too much like always...will try again..thanks for the reply
