CS3 Hosting Sims 2 dowloads?
It has been suggested that we host Sims 2 downloads in addition to our sims 3 downloads. I am aware that The Sims 2 is still a very popular game and played by many people. With that being said -

If we offered a TS2 download section would you be interested in sharing your creations?

You'd have to change the name of the forum :) My personal preference is for a site to specialise, and I like how you've leaned towards worlds and lots as a focus point. I guess if you did expand to TS2, it would be nice to keep that focus, and lean towards lots and hoods for Sims 2. But overall I see this new energy as an ideal opportunity to give some really in-depth support and resources for TS3 world builders, which isn't really covered by other sites

My plan to make CS3's motto "Supporting World Builders" came from seeing threads at the main forum with people complaining about not having ready made lots they could use and begging for help building lots.

I think your observation about hosting TS2 lots & worlds might just be spot on.

RE: CS3 Hosting Sims 2 dowloads?
I'd share the lots and stuff I make for sims 2, definitely. I think only limiting ourselves to sims 3 is a loss to the community personally. I've said before that the Sims 2 community is still very much alive. Offering Sims 2 downloads will probably attract more people to the forum, encourage people to create and post their work here for S2 and its also handy for those of us who play both games to be able to post our downloads all on one forum.

RE: CS3 Hosting Sims 2 dowloads?
If I had a working TS2 game, I'd be happy to post stuff. My game broke on me and I haven't had time to test play it and see what disk is the culprit. I made a bunch of sims for TS2 as well and I surely have some lots. I think they are saved on a disk in my stack. Laughtingoutloud_32x32 It's possible I could get a game going; my boyfriend has a copy of TS2, base game with NL included, that might just work. I've actually been having nostalgia for TS2.

I have one sim at Simlogical.com. You will find the rest of my creations here at CS3. Happy Simming! Kiss_32x32

RE: CS3 Hosting Sims 2 dowloads?
Well I will say that IF I decide to have a TS2 area, it won't be until after we get moved to the new host. Pary, I know you are still active in the TS2 community, so maybe start thinking about what sites we should contact about offering downloads and getting artist. Don't contact anyone yet though.

I did check into getting another domain name, but the one I wanted is taken, but set to expire May 25 this year. I took advantage of GoDaddy's feature to send a message to the domain owner and hope that he might consider letting me get it.

RE: CS3 Hosting Sims 2 dowloads?
I agree that a Sims 2 forum would be great. I have many lots from Sims 2 that I could contribute to the downloads area, if I can find the time for it. I also agreed that there are still a lot of Sims 2 players out there. The site could attract those players with a new forum.Sunshine

Blessings to you and yours. Flower_32x32

I think you're right on the money there Sookielee. It would be too much of a pain to start it before.

RE: CS3 Hosting Sims 2 dowloads?
As you know I mostly play Sims 2 at the moment. So yes I would most likely use The Sims 2 section.

However, you have a niche site. You need to becareful not to become like the Walmart of The Sims which is one the reasons why I rarely go on The Sims Resource site. To much clutter!

RE: CS3 Hosting Sims 2 dowloads?
I know a lot of people still play mostly The Sims 2 and that would probably attract more visitors to the site. Although, this is after all CustomSimsTHREE, which is specified in The Sims 3 (and now also world building?) and then people might not think of this as the first place to look for The Sims 2 downloads.

I myself am not playing The Sims 2 at all so I am not especially interested in it, but I am not uninterested either. Do what you feel is best! :)

I like Simstown's outlook on it; it wouldn't be good with too much clutter. I think that Sookielee has the right idea getting everything more consolidated and organized. If this site hosted other games' stuff, it would have to be done in the right way to not get too cluttered. I just love Sookielee's organization skills; she has done a lot of things that make sense to me.
