Farm Fence with Gate - O-Decaff - 06-13-2011 02:13 AM
[attachment=1936]I created this fence for CAW because I wanted to fence an area of land and I wanted fence with gates not open ended fence. The fence is easy to connect together and the open gate will let Sims through if you rebuild the routing data after setting the fence, as seen in one of the images. I made the fence with a white washed weathered effect as typical of older fencing. I could also make it pristine if anyone thought it necessary. I am using this in my world and if you can use it in yours you are welcome to use it as long as it is not for commercial gain. Highest poly count is 318 for 4 section fence, the rest are lower.

My world seems to be on going dream. I lost a lot of work to a virus a few months back. It is now about half completed. I have the city 90 % completed, and I am working on the farming area now, I created a pseudo rice or celery field by leveling land about one or two layers below the water then painting in plowed fields. I then added my man plowing into the field. This gives a real nice effect as you can see the water ripples over the crops, and around his and the horses legs. I am trying to come up with a way to create water at a higher level in the map for water falls and lakes on a Plato. I also want to create a man and his son bringing in a fish while fly fishing. This is perhaps my problem as it seem's the more I do the more I want to create. I do want to someday complete my world, but not until I have it completed my way. Thank you for the comments and I enjoy sharing my work with others, and on this great site. I often post my work here before I post it on my site.

Your world sounds awesome!
What I do for water around waterfalls, which so far are only in areas not Sim-accessible so they're only seen from a distance, is use the water terrain texture I made to paint the streams. I use it at a fairly low opacity over a gravel texture then place rocks and bushes nearby. You can find it at BogSims in my section with all the terrain paints. The same can be done for lakes at high levels (again, wouldn't want them Sim-accessible) or if you want Sims to be able to get to them, build the lakes on lots.

This fence and gate are great, I simply hate the one that EA put into the game! Don't know why they do the game and don't supply the objects they put on their lots. Thank you for sharing them.
