Now we can make a great one! Thanks a lot Suzetter. :D RE: Building Challenge # 3 - Those Darn Kids! - shad0w - 08-02-2011 08:54 PM Thank You Suzetter, your great RE: Building Challenge # 3 - Those Darn Kids! - Ghost - 08-03-2011 05:32 PM My math skills stink. I've sort of started building something to see if I''m interested in this, but does an 18x20 building complex leave enough open space on the ground level? (Shad0w, you would be surprised at how much you can save if you use the cheapest wallpaper and floors and use CAST to put the patterns from the more expensive ones on them. I only use the more expensive stuff if I really need the shapes of those channels. Like the puzzle floors, or the walls with the chair rails and molding or the decorated corner stuff.) ETA: By 18x20 building complex, I mean that is the total area of all the enclosed space. Taking advantage of create-a-style is a good way to raise the level of the decor without adding to the budget. Yes, you're fine with an 18 X 20 structure on a 30 x 40 lot. You're using only 30% of the lot for the structure and you are allowed to do construction on up to 65% of the lot. Adding your name to the list. Glad you've joined us. :) RE: Building Challenge # 3 - Those Darn Kids! - shad0w - 08-04-2011 08:23 PM well I'm all done, been done since 2 days. Just checking, I'm still a little new at these. Thanks! RE: Building Challenge # 3 - Those Darn Kids! - Fisha - 08-05-2011 05:52 AM Count me in RE: Building Challenge # 3 - Those Darn Kids! - Ghost - 08-05-2011 08:51 AM I -know- I have seen picnic baskets in the big park in Sunset Valley. And I know I have found them in the catalog. SO it seems as though I should be seeing it somewhere. But I've even looked in misc. objects debug mode without seeing it, so I think I'm blind. Where is it? RE: Building Challenge # 3 - Those Darn Kids! - suzetter - 08-05-2011 10:51 AM Shadow - Wow, that was fast. Great, you must have really gotten into this challenge. I'll announce when the entry list is closed and people can begin posting. Think of this as having more time to tweak, improve, and perfect your lot. Hi Jaguwar! - Sorry, custom patterns are not allowed since they are custom content as well. The lot can be made with anything that is in the base game, EPs and SPs only. And of course, any alterations you can make via create-a-stye. Hi Fisha - okay you're on the list. Ghost - The picnic baskets for some reason are weirdly categorized under entertainment -- so whether in sort-by-room or sort-by-function mode just click on the football and you'll find them. Have fun everyone! RE: Building Challenge # 3 - Those Darn Kids! - Jaguwar - 08-05-2011 02:02 PM Aw bummer. :( Ok, thanks! BTW, are there no stoves or microwaves in community lots? :( RE: Building Challenge # 3 - Those Darn Kids! - sionelle - 08-05-2011 02:58 PM This one looks fun! Wish I had time to join in, but RL is in the way. Can't wait to see what you all come up with! RE: Building Challenge # 3 - Those Darn Kids! - suzetter - 08-05-2011 11:29 PM Dantes - You're right. I forgot that picnic baskets have to be in the Sims' inventory. Ghost -- Sorry, I didn't recall that the picnic baskets were available in residential mode only. :bag: I thought it was weird how picnic baskets were categorized but that you can't place them on community lots is even weirder -- EA's logic is bizarre at times. Shadow - Sounds like a good mod but there is NO CC allowed so they can't use it for this challenge. Jaguwar - No, you can't place stoves or microwaves on community lots. But there are still barbeques, fridges, food registers, or the food truck as options. Sionelle -- Sorry, you can't join us this time as I would have loved to see what you would have done on this. Please join us for the next challenge if you can. RE: Building Challenge # 3 - Those Darn Kids! - Dantes - 08-06-2011 01:51 AM (08-05-2011 11:29 PM)suzetter Wrote: Dantes - You're right.
