RE: Oriental Sail Boat
This I love and have already nabbed from your site! I'm going to use this in the world I am currently working on, since it is an asian/tropical themed world.

RE: Oriental Sail Boat
This is really wonderful. I am new to placing CC world objects into the program files of CAW. Where do you put it?:D
Blessings to you and yours.

RE: Oriental Sail Boat
Judy, follow the instructions on this page. Just be sure to make a copy of the .cfg file and edit out outside of the Program Files area of C-A-W, plus create the Packages folder elsewhere on your computer, like in My Documents or some such, then MOVE those files to the Program Files area. Also, remember to make a back-up of the original .cfg file. You can just rename it with back-up in the name or some such and leave the original where it is. I tried editing it in the Program Files area and created the Packages directory there as well and it didn't work. Yeah, silly me, trying to take shortcuts all the time.
I really love this boat. BogSims Institute, where you won't find much, but what you do find may be useful. |

I do love all the objects, but best not mess with it.

RE: Oriental Sail Boat
It's a lot easier than it looks. Reading something can be daunting, but if you break it down, it's just fixing the Resource.cfg and making a packages folder. Exact same steps we had before Ambions. It's nice to have extra stuff in CAW :)

Config CAW
LoerInc: Another program I found very usefull is Dashboard, It will find duplicate files and also indicate if a file is bad or corrupt which can slow or cause CAW to crash. I have had this happen. Dashboard is not an answer to all problems but I would recomend it.

RE: Oriental Sail Boat
What LoserInc said is true, Judy. It's looks a lot more daunting than it is, but if I can do it anyone can. I think I even set mine up on one of my sleep-deprived days and my already pea-brain feels basically the size of a pinhead on those days. It's just a matter of finding the file, making a back-up of that file, copying the original file out of that section to someplace else, open it in Notepad and copy and paste the text, save it and paste it back in over the original. I haven't added any true custom C-A-W items just yet but have it set up with the objects that weren't included with C-A-W from Riverview (bridge sides, cow sign, distant terrains, etc.) as well as objects from the expansion packs that EA failed to include.
BogSims Institute, where you won't find much, but what you do find may be useful. |
