Pets Game Error Now!!
I totally think EA hates me. Now my Pets game won't start up. It played fine last night. Today, I started it up and it seemed to hang in the middle of loading the game, so I had to manually shut down my computer. After I rebooted, I thought maybe my disc was scratched or something, so I took it out to look at it. Nothing, so I put it back in. As the disc started up, instead of opening the game, it started the installation to uninstall. It asked me if I wanted to uninstall Pets and I said no. When it tried to start the game, the launcher comes up and when I click for the game to load, a black screen appeared and I heard the Windows sound for an error. I had to close the window from the toolbar. I have tried starting from the exe. file and it did the same thing.

Is this a reinstall?Crying_32x32Crying_32x32 I don't know what else to do. I have backed up all my files with Pets and CAW, so I guess I have no alternative, but to uninstall everything. GRRRRRRRRRRR!

Any thoughts, everyone.:what:

RE: Pets Game Error Now!!
Okay, sorry to post too quick about the game problem. I kept rebooting my computer until the game would load without errors. I am really thinking it is my Windows that is causing so many problems. I am getting some errors on some of my other programs as well.

How many of you have Windows 7 and how do you like it? Does it play your game okay or better? I think I am going to have it installed to see if this will clear up some of my headaches.

Thanks everyone, and I hope I am not being a pest.

RE: Pets Game Error Now!!
Hi Judy! :hug3: So sorry to hear of your problems. That's so frustrating. I've been running TS3 on Windows 7 quite well. Which operating system do you have?

I used to have XP and have had the game on Vista with different computer configurations. I had the DEP and large address aware problems with XP and on Vista with a GeForce graphic card and Intel processor. I had Windows 7 on a GeForce/Intel configuration and had blue screens until I turned off the blue screen capability with advice from here. I also had a lot of error codes 12, 13 and I think one more with some of those configs.

The funny thing is that with AMD processors and ATI graphics and Windows 7, the game runs great for me! It has run with different graphic cards ATI brand and different computers with W7 with only an occasional crash (most of which have been caused from a piece of custom content I was trying for the first time).

You might have a completely different experience, since I've heard different things from different people, but I'd say it would be worth the try on Windows 7, especially if you have to reformat your HD anyway. Good luck! Sunshine

Hi, Tontin, good to hear from you and thanks for the hug. I really need one. I have Window XP.

I have added 2 more gigs of memory and installed that LLA progam. It has speeded up my computer, but I am still having problems.

I really think I just need to go ahead and get Windows 7. I wanted to wait until I got this world done that I am working on, but with so many errors, I might have to do it now. Sunshine

Blessings to you and yours. Flower_32x32

RE: Pets Game Error Now!!
I certainly hope you can get the issues solved. You'll want to run a test to make sure your system is compatible with Windows 7 if you already haven't. I had two XP computers that have run better on Windows 7 than XP when upgraded, so I hope you'll have a good experience and all goes well. :D

I guess my computer guy would know to run a test for compatibility. I had the computer build for gaming and it is only about four years old. Outdated for sure by most standards, I'm sure. Laughtingoutloud_32x32

I'm sure he does. Sunshine If it's not any older than that it should work with W7. I have an older one that does. I hope all goes well for you.
