CAW doesn't work.
HEY Y'ALL! I have been trying to create a world to move my hitchcock legacy into after I create it. (mean while they are in bridge port.) CAW says "The Sims 3 Create a World - Beta fatal error.
Error info:
There was a try to read or write in restricted memory. It often means that other memory is damaged."

HELP!!!

RE: CAW doesn't work.
That error comes up for a number of reasons. I'm not sure from reading your post, are you able to get CAW to load then getting that error while building? If that's the case, it isn't damaged memory but you are running out of memory so CAW is crashing. How much RAM do you have? With expansion packs you'll need at least four gigs and more is better. Plus you'll need a decent processor to be able to handle it. If you have at least four gigs of RAM make sure you have Large Address Aware on your computer which will force CAW to read more than two gigs (silly it's not programmed to read more than four gigs but it isn't), and there's another app (cannot remember what it's called) out there for if you have over four gigs. There is much information in the CAW section.

CAW is an EXTREMELY resource-intensive program and the more expansion and stuff packs installed the worse it gets. It also helps to run it on a clean game, as in no CC installed. All you need to do is rename your main Sims 3 folder to something like Sims 3-play, then start your game and a brand new folder will be created. When you want to play, just rename that one to something like Sims 3-build, rename the play version back to Sims 3 and load your game for playing.

BogSims Institute, where you won't find much, but what you do find may be useful.
