World Files
Question for the world builders. When you put your world up for download, do you normally put it in a zip file? I never have and was wondering if I should start. It makes sense as it would be better for the downloader. I am a slow learner.:bounce:

RE: World Files
It would be better for downloaders if you placed the sims3pack file for your world in a zip, rar or 7z because the file is compressed and smaller, thus the file downloads quicker.

the zip format is the oldest and most common due to it being native to windows. 7z, which is a free program actually is better in that compresses the files to a smaller size. Here is an example for you with my Sapphire Ranch lot.

sim3pack: 3,834 KB
zip: 3,399 KB
rar: 2,669 KB
7z: 2,604 KB

Thanks, Sookielee. I do have that and will start using it. I don't know why I never thought of it before. Like I said, I am rather slow.:nutty:

RE: World Files
That is good information. Another thing I like about 7z is that it will extract the stuff out of all the other kinds of files, including rar. I don't use it all the time, but I do on a regular basis.

I have one sim at Simlogical.com. You will find the rest of my creations here at CS3. Happy Simming! Kiss_32x32
