The Sims 3 Seasons
I was over at Sims VIP and found this announcement - hmmm what do you think?

Quote:Sims.Mixei.ru has discovered listings on Hungarian Retailer Uberkonzol for Sims 3 Seasons! Not only is there a regular The Sims 3 Seasons game, but there is also a Limited Edition + a Base Game/Seasons Combo Pack slated for November 9th, 2012! Could the “secret Guru project” be coming to an end and ready for us this year? Only time will tell simmers, and listings never lie!

RE: The Sims 3 Seasons ?!?
I'd like to believe its true, but I'm not holding my breath. That way, I wont be disappointed, or will be pleasantly surprised. 2 EP's in a year, and so close together? Hmm.

RE: The Sims 3 Seasons ?!?
The only thing that makes me think there is even a remote chance of this is the fact that EA originally planned on having weather in the base game.

RE: The Sims 3 Seasons ?!?
I hope it is true as it would be a nice way to end the Sims 3 series. I am not any where ready to start on Sims 4. I have not even played all the EPs enough to know everything they do. Smack

RE: The Sims 3 Seasons ?!?
I doubt seasons would be the end of Sims 3. It seems a bit early to me. I know the ep numbers are getting close to what was the end of previous versions, but EP's have been getting released a bit quicker with TS3.

RE: The Sims 3 Seasons ?!?
I'm not ready for Sims 4 yet, and neither is my computer! hahahaha. I definitely haven't been able to play through all the stuff in each EP. Probably because I spend most of my time battling all the cc I download, ha. Oh well. Such is the life of a cc hoarder.

RE: The Sims 3 Seasons ?!?
I saw this, too.
I've seen lots of theories and I'm sure that there are EPs slated for next year as well, but 3 in one year would not be TOO surprising to me for this reason--SimCity 2013 is due in February. Therefore, they won't want to release a Sims 3 EP too close to the time of the SimCity 2013 release or people might *gasp* choose 1 or the other and not both.

Since their normal release pattern is late winter/early spring for an EP, summer for a SP, fall for a 2nd EP and then a winter release SP, I'm not too surprised they're trying to cram 3 SPs and 3 EPs into this year so that there's nothing too close on either side of the February SimCity release. I expect we'll probably get 2 EPs next year anyways, maybe only 1 SP, maybe 2 in the summer or early fall close together like the Diesel and Katy Perry packs were, but I expect to see an EP in probably April or May and then one in the fall as usual because that will space them apart enough to allow their teams to finish them both adequately, but set them just far enough after SimCity that people will be starting to look for something new again.

However, they have to get us to coast until after SimCity and not put our games AWAY completely, so they have to give us PLENTY to do until they feel that SimCity has enough of a bubble that the budget purchasers will get ALL of them lol.

That's what I think anyway. I may be off the mark, but since they have several different development groups within the greater Sims franchise, I'd imagine that if they REALLY wanted they could have been pumping out 2 more EPs or SPs a year already and haven't because it's more lucrative to try to sell the same objects in smaller sets through the store.

There are some very good points here; I can't wait to see what happens anyway.

I have one sim at Simlogical.com. You will find the rest of my creations here at CS3. Happy Simming! Kiss_32x32

RE: The Sims 3 Seasons ?!?
If it's true, I'll be trying to get both, though we'll have to see if I can keep all EPs installed together without updating my computer lol. I'd LIKE to, but if I HAVE to get rid of 1 until I can upgrade, it would probably be um...not Superstar, what's the last one? lol. Showtime. It has some really nice things in it, I do enjoy it and all, but I could probably live without it until I had a bit of extra cash.

RE: The Sims 3 Seasons ?!?
My fear is that seasons will end up being a big disappointment to many people. Seasons in TS2 bumped up the computer requirements quite a bit and that was only having weather on one lot at a time. I can only imagine what type of system you will need to be able to enjoy the effects on TS3. Some of the people that have been begging for weather and wanting it so bad are probably not even going to be able to run it.

RE: The Sims 3 Seasons ?!?
I think you are right, Sookielee. I am going to wait to buy it when it comes out. I want to see what it is doing to other's compters first. The game can just get so big. I am hearing more and more people getting rid of their loads of CC because it is causing problems now. I have a tiny bit, so it is no problem for me.

Blessings to you and yours. Flower_32x32

RE: The Sims 3 Seasons ?!?
You make a valid point daisylee, but if EA insists on trying to keep the requirements down they will alienate the many fans that have saved and invested in new systems just for the game they love. I can't begin to count the number of posts I have seen everywhere with simmers bragging about their new PC's with great specs.

EA is going to get a huge backlash no matter what they chose to do with a seasons EP.

I must admit I agree with Spacerox's assessment of the purported timing of Seasons release. Seems like they are trying to make sure they give the simmer fans enough time between releases to insure SimCity sales come February.

RE: The Sims 3 Seasons ?!?
I've been presently playing without CC, just a handful of mods, when I do get to play.
My computer is somewhere between 5 and 11 years old depending on which part you're talking about lol.
I'll be upgrading it in the spring if we can swing it, we have to buy a bit of furniture (a couch and a new mattress for our bed), get the car fixed up, and a few other things yet, so it may not be a bunch of HUGE upgrades, but it's not just for Sims of course. Because the system is so old, even with all the upgrades I've done on it, it still only has a 320 gb hard drive and 2 RAM slots that will only hold up to 2 gb RAM each. It's a shame we'll be leaving Columbus where there's a MicroCenter in town, a great place to buy parts and fix it up yourself. They do most of their business by order, so we can still GET the parts, it's just been so nice running over to buy em cheap when we needed.

But yea, a lot of people have systems like mine where they upgrade a piece at a time and EA has to realize that. I think it was them that I saw had a survey recently asking what type of computer people used and most people answered regular PC, not gaming rig. Which makes sense. Not everyone wants to spend that much money on a home computer. I'm sure that's been a big concern with seasons, or they would have released weather with Late Night like they'd originally planned ages ago. It will probably be like other detail level things where you can turn up the level of effects you see, do you get high detail rain or snow? Or do you mostly just see the effects on the world? I'd RATHER have a system that can handle all of the EPs at the same time AND get highest detail for everything AND be able to use CC AND run smoothly but I have proven time and time again that I would ask for the moon if I thought I had space for it in my apartment.

RE: The Sims 3 Seasons ?!?
I read on Sims VIP that NewEgg has listed Season with a release date of Nov 13. Even if EA has not announced it, it must be a sure thing as NewEgg is a reputable site.
