TS3 EP06 Showtime How do YOU live? Show us YOUR house and share it!

Were you ever wondering how the other players are living in all the different countries?

I certainly am!

So had had the idea to just build and share the place I live at in real life and here it is:

A typical german 'Neubaublock' apartment house.

Front side:

Back side:

My apartment:

It is built on a 30x20 lot and costs furnished ยง 23.365

I had to fake the three entry doors, because the game would only allow me one.

There also is a community laundry room in the basement, since these apartments are usually too small to have the washer and dryer in the apartment.

I hope you all will upload your real life homes! I am really excited to see it!

Here is the download, just in case you want to live in my apartment ;)

RE: How do YOU live? Show us YOUR house and share it!
Oh that's a fun idea! My house is actually pretty impossible to build in sims. That is due to the fact that we have a basement floor which is partly above ground and partly below it and there really is no way to build that in Sims. Believe me, I have tried SEVERAL times, in all three games.

I have built my house in Sims 3, but will need to take a look at it for CC and resize pics and all. Will try to submit it sometimes soon.:D I would love to see where everyone lives. I find that very interesting how the styles change with the country or region. It would be good to put the place where the home was built.Sunshine

Blessings to you and yours. Flower_32x32

@Gurra

The user 'Plasticbox' at MTS made a very helpfull tutorial how to build rooms into a foundation. Is this what you mean? He/she was the first who built basements - even before basements were possible in TS3.

RE: How do YOU live? Show us YOUR house and share it!
Well, I based the house I have uploaded at this link here off of my real house plan. Unfortunately, I have no pool, no ocean view, and the colors are much prettier than my real house. If I had my way, my house would look like it. Unfortunately, real life isn't always quite the way we want though. ;)

That's why we build nicer houses for our sims. Laughtingoutloud_32x32

Also, my lot is three-tiered, something that would make a lot in Sims 3 just plainly annoying to play. It's also just plainly annoying to live on such a lot in real life. :) The people who lived there before put in a driveway that does not extend all the way to the house, and that was a pain when we moved in because I couldn't even move all my stuff into the house right away. Fortunately, there is a big shop there beside the end of the driveway, because, that's still where a lot of my stuff is stored since life is sometimes too crazy to go through it and some stuff is just too big and heavy to go up a hill. :bounce:

Yes, the links are faint in color now or something and hard to see. I loved the floor plan of your house. It looks really large. My next house is going to be build similiar to that I hope. Ours is a two story and my bad knees are not liking them much now.Laughtingoutloud_32x32 I will try to get my house up this coming week. Sunshine

You know, it's funny about stairs and knees. I never wanted to have a second story house because I thought about how hard it is on a body to always be climbing those stairs. Years back, I hurt my knee in a bicycle accident, and for years it bothered me. I'm glad it doesn't now, but I think it's because my work for a long time has had a physical aspect to it, and the muscles are really strong in my legs now; that seems to help.

I used to have strong legs, but I ruined my knees and feet with years of nursing and working on our mini-farm. I used to think I was Might Mo.:bounce: I love the privacy of a two story home, but we will probably be downsizing when my husband retires.

I used to live on the 6th story of an apartment building with no elevator. When I moved, I gained 5 pounds within a month :D

Yikes! That hurts to think about.:D It will keep you in shape with that many stairs and make for stronger legs. Sunshine

Well, I know that too, the same way as you built basements in TS2. But that doesn't work for my home since our basement is partly above ground AND has windows and you can't have that in sims 2 without having a hole in the ground all around the basement and our house doesn't look like that either.

It's kind of hard to describe (although it's a perfectly normal way of building houses) but maybe you get it now?
