X3-exclamation Create New Game Issue
I am having an issue with the "Creats A New Game", or maybe I'm just noticing it for the first time?? Anyway, I go to choose a world and they all are not listed. There's no scroll bar or anything for me go go farther down the list (don't know if it ever had one). Seems that in the list, there are only 25 worlds.

I uninstalled and reinstalled my worlds, and still have the same issues. It does help that the worlds are listed in alphabetical order, so I know which ones I can not see or get to.

Is there a fix or something where I can see and have access to all of my worlds??

I searched the net, but nothing came remotely close to my issues.

BTW: I am fully patched to 1.36

Help Please? :chaplin:

Thanks in Advance

RE: Create New Game Issue
I am also patched to 1.36 and do not have this issue at all and to be hones I am not familiar with it either. Please rename your The Sims 3 folder under My documents and start the game. It will generate a new one. Go in and see if the problem persists. If it doesn't then it is a mod or CC that is causing the issue.

It is best to test this first. Mods and CC can often have unbelievably unexpected side affects.

RE: Create New Game Issue
Thanks for the quick reply, Sookielee!

I have a couple of dumb questions, sorry.

1) Does it matter what I rename the Sims 3 Folder?
2) Do I need to rename all the sub-folders?
3) Once the Sims3 regenerate the folder, what do I do with the one I renamed?

RE: Create New Game Issue
Just right click the folder named The Sims 3 and select rename. Then you can add something to the end of it, be it numbers or a word like hosed (I actually had one called The Sims 3 hosed for a bit) As long as the folder is not the original name the game generates a new one. The sub folders don't matter because if the main folder is not named what the game is looking for, it automatically makes a new one.

If you find that your problem is solved by the game creating a new folder, then you can either go through all the content in your old folder and try to find what is causing the issue, or you can just start fresh and redownload and install the items you feel are needed.

You can actually copy your saved games over to the new folder if you want, then you don't loose them. Give it a try and see what ahppens, if this fixes the game, then I will be glad to help you get your stuff transferred back.

RE: Create New Game Issue
Sadly, it didn't work, so now it's test time. Any ideas what type of MOD would effect the world list scroll?

RE: Create New Game Issue
If you played the game with the new folder and did not have anything at all in it from your old folder. The problem is not a mod or CC. When you renamed, and let the game regenerate a new folder, you did try playing with our putting anything back into your game at all correct?

If this is the case, then either you installation of the Sims 3 has gotten messed up and you need to uninstall everything and re-install OR your PC is having trouble handling the game with your ep's and such.

RE: Create New Game Issue
I decided to call a friend and neither of us have scrolls for the worlds. I am not sure, but it could be that the game only allows you to see a set number of worlds. Please I would love to hear other peoples experience.

RE: Create New Game Issue
David, are you talking about where you can load a saved game or pick a new one? Do you mean the top selector where you create a new game? I'm going to have to check this out when I get home, because since I've patched to 1.36 I haven't even tried it yet. I'll see what happens.

I'm having some problems with my game after the new patch but haven't had time yet to track down the trouble. I was already thinking about renaming my Sims3 document folder to see what happens. I haven't yet tried starting a new hood, so that was one of the things I was already going to try too. I think the town I test-played in last evening is hosed big time, but I never test in a town that isn't disposable. It's just a copy of Twinbrook I've play-tested before. It already had problems previously, so it doesn't surprise me to find some really bad happenings in it now. I couldn't even exit the game from the town, I had to exit to the load screen and then exit the game. I seriously doubt that save will ever load again. that's happened to me before, if I remember correctly, with Twinbrook. I'm thinking that that town is glitched, but I haven't had time to research it.

I have one sim at Simlogical.com. You will find the rest of my creations here at CS3. Happy Simming! Kiss_32x32

RE: Create New Game Issue
I'm glad to know I'm haven't gone mad. lol. I've been working on all posibilities to fix this issue. I was wondering that myself (no scroll for worlds) when I took out all mods, deleted all cache and then when that didn't work. . . . . uninstall all my SIms 3 and re-install.

Thanks for checking into this futher Sookielee, now I can rest a bit easier.

Maybe I'll just rotate the worlds, keep so many in at a time and switch them out with another batch??

The Create A New one and when you go to the top where the towns (worlds) are listed the drop list only shows so many and no way to scroll down for more choices.

RE: Create New Game Issue
At least going that would give you something "new" when you want it. I used to do that with CC in both TS1 & 2

RE: Create New Game Issue
There is no scroll-bar in the list where you select a world for creating a new game which have limited me to have only 27 worlds installed in my game, the rest just don't show up on the screen... That is a really stupid mistake made by EA.

Appreciate the info. But you are correct Gurra, it was a stupid mistake made by EA. Since Create-A-World was relased, and new worlds EA make, where do they (EA) think the installed worlds should show up at?

Like I wrote yesterday, I'm just going to have to rotate my worlds.

Maybe EA will fix that glitch with the Supernatural expansion?? Of course, that's just hopeful thinking??

RE: Create New Game Issue
I don't think EA ever thought of the issue of the list, since they probably won't release that many worlds themselves during the TS3 era and EA haven't been very supportive of custom content in TS3 as they were in earlier games... But if we in any way could make EA aware of the problem it probably would be an easy fix for them to add a scroll-bar to the list in a patch.

And rotating your worlds was a great idea if you actually have that many worlds! I myself often find myself only using a few worlds that I find are the best so I haven't really had the problem of too many worlds recently... I just uninstall the ones I rarely or never use.

RE: Create New Game Issue
I took your advice and just made a comment to EA about the issue, but who knows?

Also, I added your Crestview to my rotational round up. It looks great and can't wait to give it a try. :)
