Gosh ... I'm sitting on the edge of my seat, wanting so BADLY to start playing my new world in Victoria Isles, but knowing I don't have the time yet, to really PLLLLAAAYYYY!
I leave on Wednesday to spend two weeks in Dallas, with my son Kenny. His lovely wife and two children are leaving to spend two weeks in California with her family, and with them just having gotten home yesterday from Disney in Florida, Kenny has doctor's appt's and physical therapy, he needs to get caught up on! I don't know how much I mentioned about my son Kenny, but he's 34, happily married, 2 beautiful children, great job, it was all "storybook" .... then on New Year's Eve, he and a friend rode their harley's to the harley shop, Kenny was shopping for something for Michelle to wear under her helment to keep her hair from getting so messed up during a ride .... anyway, as they were leaving the shop, Kenny hit a chuck hole in the rode, realized he was going to drop the bike, tried to jerk back and accidentally hit the throttle ...he was thrown 20 feet into a street sign and wrapped his body around it! The resulting injury was a shattered T6 vertabrae, and what they call a "complete spinal chord injury" ... simply put, he is completely paralyzed from his upper chest down! His attitude thru out this horrible ordeal has been AMAZING!!! He has not been depressed, there has been no "Poor Pitiful Me" or Why Me??? ... (can't say I could have been that strong) .... Instead he has faced this head on, with an attitude, of what's next ... yeah, I can do this, or that ... his progress has been nothing short of miraculous ! This past year, I've spent alot of time in Dallas .... mostly in the hospital's, so I'm thrilled that in the coming two weeks, we are looking forward to shopping, going to Bible study, out to dinner, and just FUN STUFF! When I get home, on the 16th my youngest son Jason, who is 30 will be coming to begin the remodeling job on my bathroom, making it wheelchair accessible .... sooooo ..... RL calls and my simming time is on the back burner. Ya'll stay safe, and I'll see you before I leave I'm sure, I'm still tweaking my new world (between packing and cleaning) ready to play when RL settles down abit :sims3icon: This first pic was taken just before they left for Florida,( my poor baby .... I'm gonna put some meat on those ribs while I'm visiting ... :( ) the second pic was taken just before his first of two back surgery's ....And the last one... well... That's the real ME  |

RE: Hey Fellow Simmers
It is so refreshing to hear about someone taking what could have been an insurmountable mountain and turn it into something that is just hill. My heart goes out to you and your family as you figure out how to rearrange the details in life to fit this new reality. Sounds like all of you are doing a great job and are inspirational to many around you.
It won't be long before I am ready about you legacy. Have a blast in Dallas! |

RE: Hey Fellow Simmers
Thank You Sookielee,
Yes, I'm so VERY proud of my son and his wife, it certainly has not been an easy time for them, and as his Mother, well, I'm just so VERY thankful to have my son....they only gave him 20% chance of surviving, it's been life changing for all of us, and everyone who's life Kenny's life touches.....and I give my Lord Jesus all the Praise and Glory! Between cleaning and packing, I am working on my characters for the Alphabet Legacy, and making sure I've got all the rules down pat .... can't decide on beginning with single's who marry, or with a couple ... hummmmmm decisions, decisions ..... |

RE: Hey Fellow Simmers
I did create Ormand and place him in the neighborhood so they could meet and get married. I lost the pics of the beginning and only started posting once the second generation was born. It has been interesting though as they are not a dull family.
I can certainly understand your thankfulness and pride. It seems well founded. |

RE: Hey Fellow Simmers
It's wonderful to know that your family is doing so well through such a difficult time.
I deal with people on a daily basis that don't have all that much to complain about, and all they do is complain about what life has dealt them. It's all about the attitude. And I totally believe that faith can move mountains. ![]() No life is perfect, and life doesn't always deal us a fair hand. But then, that's the challenge, isn't it? I hope you enjoy your time on vacation. I'm a little jelly; I want to go. I'm sure you'll give lots of love and hugs to your family, and my wishes are for your son to keep up what he's been doing. I wish God's blessings to continue with you, as it seems they've been so far.

RE: Hey Fellow Simmers
That's a beautiful saying, with such depth and meaning. I learned a long time ago to begin my day by counting my blessings. It has made the the biggest difference in my life. Sure, we all get down, but when we concentrate on the bad, that's usually what we see, and it brings us down.
And hope, well, I like to say expect the worst and hope for the best. :) That way, I'm never too disappointed. I have one sim at Simlogical.com. You will find the rest of my creations here at CS3. Happy Simming!

RE: Hey Fellow Simmers
(That's a nice picture of you. )
I also admire your son's attitude. (Romans 8:28 is a really handy verse for times like that.) |
