Z4-wink New! And needing direction
Hello all!

I just started playing Sims 3 about two months ago and I really enjoy it. I am more of a builder of homes than actually playing the game itself and yes, I use the cheats to get my money so I can build. However, as much fun as it is to build, once I am done...I'm done and I can't share what I built.

I have found the joys of customer content (yay!) and lots etc, now I would like to know how to go about making my own lots and content to share with others. I know about the Create A World tool (which I will be looking into because the base game world has too many hills for me...lol) but I need to know where to go from here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have the base game, Showtime and Town Life. I also blame my nephew for getting me started on this game as he brought the game over to my house to load and it pretty much took off from there.

RE: New! And needing direction
Marietsy, welcome to CS3. I will see about getting a picture tutorial posted explaining how to share lots and such. Many of us (including me) often forget that someone may not have been playing this game for over a decade :bag:

In the meantime you can share pictures of your lots in our Lots Picture Thread We would love to see.

I will warn you, your nephew has introduced you to a highly addictive creative outlet. I enjoy playing, but it is the building, designing and decorating that has kept me playing this game since Sims 1 came out over a decade ago. You are in good company though, there are several addicts here and we enjoy helping others with our addiction.

Hi Marietsy Wave2 and welcome to CS3! It's wonderful to see another builder willing to share lots. I've been so busy making sims and with real life that I haven't had as much time to devote to lots lately.

By the way, Sookielee, it would be good to include the instructions on just zipping up the Library file on lots, because no custom content attaches itself that way. I know you know that, just a reminder. Sunshine

I have one sim at Simlogical.com. You will find the rest of my creations here at CS3. Happy Simming! Kiss_32x32

I am addicted...I play hours and I don't even realize the time goes by. Its worse now that I am unemployed due to health issues because I have more time to become addicted. Alas, its a good way to pass the time and I love to create things. Thank god for Youtube and these forums as I have really found the help I need to do on some things. All help would be appreciated.

RE: New! And needing direction
Welcome Marietsy, I look forward to seeing some of your "Lots" ... I used to LOVE to build, but haven't really done that with my Sims3 game, I spend most of my simming time actually playing this one, but not so with Sims1 or Sims2, I would spend hours on end, just building and downloading custom content :giggle: I've just recently reinstalled my game onto a new computer, and so my custom content is at a minimum, and I've pretty much decided that other than a few custom hairstyles, and cheats that would be it. I am really enjoying actually playing the game! I'm currently doing The DiStefano Legacy (alphabet legacy), and having a blast! I too, have a medical condition that keeps me at home, so again ... Welcome

Cindy :sims3icon:

RE: New! And needing direction
Hi_byGhost You mention using money cheats in order to build. It is not necessary to have a sim in the lot in order to build. (Although it can help if you want to be sure that you haven't gotten a setup which looks nice but is unplayable, or if you want to take pictures without gridlines.)

To build with "free money", go into Edit Town mode. Click the lot you want to build in, and then click the Buy/Build icon.

And welcome to CS3! :hug2:

Thanks! Yeah, I noticed that when I finally decided to build from Edit Town. I had fun playing around with it, making the biggest, loudest house in the world, then of course deleting it. It was fun.

I appreciate any help that you guys can give me.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!
