Z3-sad I just...I...man, EA...stupid game.
So, I open my game today to test something and I have a dozen saves suddenly I can't get to because, despite the fact that I have all EPs and SPs installed according to my computer, TODAY the GAME thinks I don't have World Adventures or any custom worlds installed.

I'm not sure what to do exactly aside from uninstall and reinstall EVERYTHING.
I'd rather not, but I may have to.

I feel your pain. I've had to install/uninstall/reinstall so many times already. It would be nice if they could just fix everything, THEN worry about putting out more stuff.

I've got to the point now, whenever a new ep or stuff pack comes out, I just reinstall everything.

I hope you didn't lose any super important simmies or anything!

I hope not. I have just about everything backed up about 9 times over, it seems like, but it's figuring out WHERE it is that gets frustrating.

RE: I just...I...man, EA...stupid game.
I have a few hard drives. On my backup one, I have a sims 3 folder. I keep everything in there as a back up. I have sections for updates, CC, EA packs, etc. I also save all of my lots and sims that I want to keep there. Of course, I'm one of those uber organized people, so everything is broken down into subs so it's super easy to find.

Oh so that's my problem Loserinc - I'm uber organized, as I do the same exact thing and update it every time I update my game just about. I am so paranoid after losing a few harddrive I even go further and back up to a flash drive as well periodically - I don't know - just in case my entire pc blows up or something. hehehe

Glad I'm not the only person that does that Laughtingoutloud_32x32 I don't do the flash drive thing, but that's only because I have way way too much stuff to back up. I should probably at least put my game stuff on one though...good idea!

RE: I just...I...man, EA...stupid game.
I'm considering just opening it and closing it repeatedly until it remembers I have WA lol. I really don't wanna do a full reinstall just for that......lol.

RE: I just...I...man, EA...stupid game.
Ya know I think I ran into this problem as well but I forget how I fixed it, or maybe someone else had this problem. Maybe if you set aside your folder, uninstalled WA and then installed it? Or maybe just try installing just the WA ep?

Not that I know if you can do either without uninstalling everything else, but was grasping at any idea that might fix it. I was trying to patch my game a while back and I know I hadn't removed any files or changed anything, only added a Mods folder and 3booter, which I removed before patching, but the patches wouldn't apply until I uninstalled and reinstalled. It kept telling me I had missing files but for the life of me I couldn't figure out what was missing.

Sorry for asking this, but did you try removing your CC and opening the game without any added content, I mean moving out the whole Sims 3 folder and seeing if the game generates a new one and lets you in? This is usually the first thing anyone does when troubleshooting so you probably already tried that.

RE: I just...I...man, EA...stupid game.
I don't remember what I did to fix it when it happened to me before, either...
Stupid game lol.
I actually haven't regenerated my folders yet.
The computer knows that WA is installed but the game seems to have forgotten, so I'm going to do that, I just hadn't gotten there yet since I was saving all pertinent info, my cache files, my sims files, my game saves, etc.

We'll see if it works.

(Edited to add that it DOES seem to be working now, so I'm off to reinstall all of my worlds and everything which is a little sad, but I'll PROBABLY live lol.)

RE: I just...I...man, EA...stupid game.
My brother had this happen with Ambitions. He backed up his saves, saved sims, mods and library. He then deleted everything in the Documents/EA Games/The Sims 3 folder, started the game up and it worked. The drawback was everything in the DCBackup had to be re-installed and come to find out some file in there got corrupt and when he reinstalled his content from the launcher, it caused it to happen again. He did the same thing again, deleted the files in the folder and it worked. He had to go back through his files to find the culprit. A Peggy hair. How suprising. LOL!!
