Castle Canyon
Requires Riverview, WA and Ambitions No CC used in any lots. Some custom world terrains and textures were used. 3 I did myself and the others are exported EA terrains thanks to Regina. Old West meets Present Day. This western themed town is nestled in a cozy canyon spread out along the banks of the river. Settlers first came looking to strike it rich during the big mining boom of 1860. There are many historical sites about town that remind sims what it was like in yester year. The old fort has been remodeled into a thriving Base and has kept Castle Canyon from becoming a ghost town. http://www.mediafire.com/?4nl7ck8f5q8b8d1 (Media Fire Link) Pets Version now available at http://www.parsimonious.org You can have both in your game I changed the WPID so the old and the new can be used instead of making you choose. ;) The pets version has the Appaloosa Plains community lots in and lots of empty lots for those wanting to add highrises and what not to it. There are over 150 lots in this large world. Community Lots School Laundromat Criminal Building Hatchery/Fishing Spot Graveyard Stadium Business Center City Hall (Riverview) Police Station Fire Station Grocery Store Spa Book Store Theater Bistro Dinner Hangout Salon/Tattoo Parlor (EA's recolored) Library (recolor of Wright's Reading Room) Consignment Store Art Gallery/Depot Junk Yard Base Science Building Nectary and some Community Gardens Numerous parks and empty community lots around town as well. There are at least 25 residential lots that have houses built on them and even more empty lots for you to add your own. There are 3 Legacy lots for those that enjoy playing Legacy families as well. All residential lots built by me except for 1, I used Pary's Rustic Cabin lot, it was perfect for the world. A big thanks to those that tested this world and helped me find all the fixes that needed done. Regina for extracting the EA terrains for everyone to use. Pary for her Rustic Cabin lot. You'll find this quaint cabin over near the miners camp. |

RE: Castle Canyon
I'm currently making some sims for Castle Canyon to share in the story of the world. Eventually I hope to share a save file and or a pre-populated version.
To be fair to those that may not want to uninstall and re-install just to get a handful of families I will upload the sim households separately as well. Here is the first of about a dozen or more families I plan to make. Jeremiah McGillis is a fisherman by trade. He's most comfortable outdoors or among his finny friends than people. He's also a very frugal sim and a bit of a grump. His home is ready built and goes on one of the empty lots in Castle Canyon 340 Prospector Drive. He has a few skills and has started the angler career. Needs the Overalls from Riverview as well as WA, Gen and AMB. http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html...Id=4346971 Josiah and Opal Miner and their son Jasper. Jasper has married Autumn Mathews, daughter of Clark and Summer Mathews. Jasper and Summer have teen daughter Ruby. All families are living together due to a number of events that has caused financial strain for all of them. They have decided to band together to help each other out. Will the family stick together or will the closeness push them apart? http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html...d=4363693# |

RE: Castle Canyon
:cowboy: Thanks everyone! I really had fun creating it, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have. I've been playing some version of it since it was half built and I still enjoy it despite it being a dessert world. At the time my poor Graphics card couldn't handle CAW it would overheat too much so I built most of the lots in an early version in game. Now that I have upgraded my card I can build for hours again without worry. :D
I'd like to make some custom community lots that are more 'old west' that will require the rabbit hole rugs or doors. I figured though that more would want a CC free world they can change themselves and wouldn't mind not having them ;) As soon as I can get the files sorted I will offer the CAW files. I know that Regina would like to make it a bit more lush so I will offer a lite version as well as the latest file for those that want them. |

And I'm still going to try playing for an extended time in this version, which has more dry grass in it so it looks much greener than the original. Just need to have some time and energy all at one time to play. :P

RE: Castle Canyon
I'm so glad everyone has enjoyed this world so much. It is also available on the exchange.
The second post of the thread has been updated with a sim to add to your world. Jeremiah McGillis is the first of a dozen or more families I plan to make for the world. I hope to have a save file or a pre-populated version, but the sims will also be available separately for those that might just want the sims. |

RE: Castle Canyon
Hehehe, I'm still having a ball in here - got those sims Amy thank you. I am also moving all our SOCL sims into here, so your sims are going to be the welcoming committee I think. I want to get everyone settled in plenty of time for Pets to come out and try to leave plenty of lots for some ranches too. This world will be so perfect for horse ranches and for pets to roam all over the place.
Right now I am dividing my play time between this world, Aynats Island, as well as Gems Island and SimRealtors two newest - but i see both your world and Aynats as most fitting for the coming Pets ep. I think anyway. We will see. But i especially love how smooth this world and Aynats world plays. |
