I also find that these are much less problematic than putting the rabbit holes in basements. I ran into routing issues with Sims I wasn't playing in a couple of worlds that had used that method so I ended up deleting the buildings, getting rid of the basements then putting the rugs on the first floor inside the buildings. Problem solved! Whee

Of course one might wonder, "Well, if you weren't actually playing those Sims how do you know there were problems?" Twallan's Story Progression kept telling me, like day after day after day that Sims were late for work and this ultimately resulted in them getting fired. It's normal for one or two Sims to end up getting fired, like one Sim in my town can't hold down a job to save himself, when numerous Sims were having trouble I knew something was wrong. After getting repeated messages I switched over to one of the Sims that was late for work and found that he was on the work lot, had attempted to go to work and couldn't reach the building. I went through town and deleted all the buried rabbit holes, got rid of the basements, put rugs in easily accessible locations on the first floor inside the buildings and problem solved! The next day and every day thereafter every Sim made it to their jobs on time.

Good to know. I'm glad I found out before using the cellar-method. Time saved on stupid bugtesting always translates to more time for the build mode ;)

Yeah, I know what you mean. I know there are many people who won't use a stitch of custom content in their games and even I don't use a lot but there ARE things like this that truly help with the game play by saving bunches of aggravation. I know some are concerned that CC will break yet again with another update and chances are good it will, but if that happens we'll fix it yet again. Broken CC with expansion packs isn't anything new--it happened with TS2 as well. To my mind there are things with some of the CC and game mods that make it worth the trouble. :D

Jynx hasn't had time to do any modding lately so the Pets rabbit holes aren't included. The files, however, have been updated with the rig fixer for Pets.

Was the ability to join self-employed careers lost with the introduction of Pets? My rugs worked fine (without me updating them) up until last night when I started playing in a new world that I built. Now there is no option for them to join self-employed careers.

<---still hoping for an Equestrian Center

EDIT...nevermind about the option to register for self-employed careers not showing up. user error ::facepalm::

Thank you so much for these rugs! I actually just got sims 3 and now i can see my kid sims at school, and my adult sims at work!

Well, Sims, no they don't work like that, as in the Sims disappear into them just like they do any rabbit hole but you can build your own structures for placing them into.

I attempted to follow Jynx's instructions to make an equestrian center rabbit hole, and failed miserably. Couldn't even get it to show up in my game. Bearing in mind that I have zero experience with object creation. I tried posting for help at another forum and get zero replies. If anyone here can guide me through it, I would be grateful.

Actually there is a list of stuff on the Pedia from Jynx on How to make thr rugs. At the top of the page click Pedia (it is next to Portal). Once on the Pedia page click Custom Content Creation. You will see this on the page.

How to Make a Custom Rabbit Hole by Jynx

Setup And Tool List
Prepping the Files
Editing the Files
Importing and Updating File References
Fixing the Flaws

I know some of the information might be outdated, but it is a place to start and probably has more that enough information to get you going in the right direction.
