Original Spiral Stairs with Upper Handrail
Why, the heck, original EA made spiral stairs don't have an upper handrail?
I wonder why I should use a straight handrail in the upper floor to complete the stairway?
So I modified the spiral stairs and added round/curved handrails.
The new objects are available as package files and as sims3packs. As these versions of the stairs are no default replacements lot builders may like to use the sims3packs because this way the objects go with the lots automatically.

For users without Generations but with completely patched games I also offer the fixed version of the stairs in packages and in sim3packs.
A big "Thank you" to Inge Jones for her help and hints fixing the objects and to Murfee Lee (MTS) who tested this version!

Oh, nice! I don't have Generations yet but I'm sure not having a rail would get on my nerves. I know Sims couldn't go falling off the edge, but still....

This will look 100% better. I was using so much space putting walls or fences around the landing. I most definitely thanking you for creating and sharing this object!

thanks for the download i have not used the spiral stairs yet but it is nice to know they will be complete,nice idea

Thank you!! As these are not default replacements, I can use them and have spiral stairs without having Generations. I'll be getting the EP but not right now. Sometime this year for sure :)

Because it's an object with a tied animation, it is probably still EP reliant, despite not being a default replacement version. I'm not sure what build options came with the Generations patch, however, so it's POSSIBLE that they may be in the patch and not the physical EP. That would be something that someone without the EP would need to check, however, because I'm not sure personally.

Spacerox you're right. That's why I included the EP-number in the RAR-file-name. The object is cloned from EP4. So I also don't know whether it worked without that.

I am making the logical assumption that they probably won't work, but as someone without Generations who would like spiral stairs anyway, I'm testing them in my game. I'll let you know if the animations were in the patch.

My money is going to ride on the no votes, because not only does the game need the animations, it also needs the base object the stairs were cloned from. That's not to say the object couldn't have been hidden somewhere in that update but the chances are pretty slim.

I fainted, but it did actually work! The spiral stairs tab had two entries in it. And after a few moments they had thumbnails. I put one in a lot and had a sim move in and "go here " to the second floor, and she went up the stairs with no trouble, and with reasonable animations.

SO the fact that there was a tab for spiral stairs in build mode, even without Generations, means that custom spiral stairs with their own mesh can show up!

(I -had- thought it was a bit unfair to taunt us with what we were missing by putting that tab in. Now I don't mind. :D )

I'd imagine they added the tab so that when they INEVITABLY sell a spiral staircase for $8 in the store, people would actually be able to use it regardless of whether they had Generations or not.

I knew they would work. I found out when I downloaded a set with spiral stairs and when I got in my game I was pleasantly surprised that it showed up. I threw those stairs in my game and tested them out. They worked :) So I kinda knew these would too :) Thanks again for making these and sharing!!
