Building Challenge # 4 - BOO!

In celebration of the impending All Hallow's Eve a.k.a. Halloween* your challenge is to create a Halloween themed or Haunted House for your Sims. There is no set budget so you can make this house as simple or as grand as you like provided it's Spooktacular!

The requirements are simple:

Lot size must be 30 x 30.

The house must have at minimum two bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, a living room and a kitchen (but it can have more rooms).

At least one room must prominently use orange and black in it's decor color scheme.

You must use the skull and crossbone pattern in the "Themes" section somewhere in the house (it can be recolored).

You may use content from any EP or SP.

You may use any cc that is free and which you can provide a link for (if you can't provide a link for the cc -- you can't use it. All CC used must be free -- no 3rd party pay content allowed.)

The house can have ghosts but it is not mandatory. (However, if your house is haunted you must included a picture of at least one ghost on the lot in your post.)

The house must have a Haunted House/Halloween theme to it but whether you make it scary looking or not is up to you.

The requirements are few so let your imagination run wild.

Please sign up by September 30, 2011 to participate.

Entries can be posted beginning October 1st and you may post eight (8) 800 x 600 200kb files size pix. If your house is haunted you are allotted an extra photo to show a ghost on the lot. Your pix must included an overview shot of the lot along with floor plans for each level of any structures on the lot, and a street level (sim view) pic of the front of the lot. The rest of the pix can be of your choice. Use of the required pattern must be visible in one of the photos. Always make sure there are no grid lines in your pix and post pix as attachments (not embedded in the copy or linked).

The deadline for posting your entries is October 24th.

Sounds like fun. I may give it a go, though I am not 100% sure I'll be able to follow up...lots going on, but I'll certainly try. This is kind of a dumb question, but is it okay if we use an EA build floorplan as our base as long as we redecorate the whole thing and fully customize? Or does it have to be a from-scratch floorplan we get from somewhere else? If it's okay to use an EA build, I have a tendency to mess with them anyways.

It's okay if the answer is no. I know it may not be 100% in the spirit of the challenge, but I'm not the best actual builder out there, although I genuinely love landscaping and decorating. If you're down with that, I'd love to participate. If not, I'll probably sit back and watch what others come up with.
