RE: Building Challenge # 4 - BOO!
Thank you Ghost, and you're very welcomed. I was glad you were able to participate.
I'll be putting up a new challenge in the next or two and hope everyone will return to enter that as well. The more the merrier! :) It's life...there are no rules! |

RE: Building Challenge # 4 - BOO!
Congrats Lady Magical! I loved everyone's houses. I did rush while building mine...I made it the last day. But anyways, thanks for the contest.
Also, just wondering which requirements I missed. The skull/crossbone pattern was in the orange and black room (the carpet).

What a wonderful group of Halloween Submissions all of you posted. It was fun looking at each of them and imagining being there. Congratulations Lady Magical on winning.

Some judges suspected that was the pattern but you lost a couple of points because we couldn't be positive due to the darkness/blurriness of the photo. Also there was no lot overview shot. You were not the only one to lose points because of poor photo visibilty or missing requirements. The contest was mainly very close with only 6 pts between 1st and 5th place so I'm not wanting to get into where or why people lost pts. However, in your case lkandak, because you are a much better builder than your score reflects I will tell you that you mainly lost points because while the house was spooky the judges did not see Halloween reflected in it. The piano in the red bedroom was very moody and provocative and would have been a slam dunk if this was a gothic challenge but for a Halloween theme it missed the mark. What was there and was visible was attractive but it was clear you barely finished -- - where were the details? The house was a box with boxes for rooms (we know you're more creative than that) and given time you could have executed that roof design with more finesse. The winding hilly cliff up to the house was a great idea but the execution seemed a bit slap dash. Clearly, it was a matter of not having enough time to best implement your ideas and finish your build. We all really enjoyed your storyline and the ghost sisters pic but unfortunately they were not part of the scoring. I hope you will join us on the next challenge and give yourself enough time to execute the level of work we know you are capable of. It's life...there are no rules! |

Ok, thanks Suzetter. I know the rooms were pretty empty. Next time I'll make sure to make my building/house better and right when you put the challange up instead of right before the deadline :)

RE: Building Challenge # 4 - BOO!
Yeah, it's just really difficult to try to put something together in such a limited amount of time. I can build small houses fairly quickly but it can take me days to build good larger ones. Well, the actual building isn't so time-consuming as the decorating. That's what takes forever!
