The Collections Folders!
Okay, so something we have NOT talked about here is the return of Collections!!! They're BACK! And may I say "FINALLY!!!"
They're actually pretty easy to make (though time consuming if you have a LOT of objects you wish to put into a single collection). You "create new collection" and then go through and each object, when you click on it, has a folder with an arrow or a + sign on it, which pulls up the list of collections you have, you choose which collection folder to add it to, and that's it. You can remove objects you've added to a collection, you can delete the collection completely, it's actually pretty simple all-in-all. As I said, because you have to go through 2-3 steps to add each item, if you are creating a large collection it can take quite a while. Of course their base game collection includes ALL store content, so it's not terribly useful lol. Actually, I haven't tried deleting the store objects from that collection, now that I'm thinking about it. Plus side, you can also use the "sort" feature at the same time as creating a collection, so if you wanted to narrow down the objects you're looking for to a specific EP or just store content or CC, you can. Shivar/Claeric posted "how to" HERE and he posted a few collections he has created like the Pool Collection, Missionaire Collection, and Grandma's House Collection. It's actually very easy, it looks just like saving a lot or household .package file from your Library folder. Also, like with Library .package lots, if you don't have an EP with a related object but it's in the collection, it just doesn't appear in that collection. :redflower: "He is happiest, be he king or peasant, who finds peace in his home."

I just don't get why it took them this long to put them back! :D
BogSims Institute, where you won't find much, but what you do find may be useful. |
