S3PE Problem!
I was just trying to save my .world file because I want to reopen an installed world. This message as been popping up when I attempt to save my new .world file with the files from one of the installed world

I've been searching for days, and I can't seem to find an answer for this! Please help! T_______T

MORE INFO: the file that seems to be used is always a different file, I'm not sure if that will be helpful info, but it's what happens T______T!

Thanks so much for looking even if you can't help!

The tutorial I was following would be this one:
http://customsims3.com/forums/post-344.html

I've posted the problem there too, but I never got a reply D:

RE: S3PE Problem!
Do you still get the error if you choose 'save as' and give it a fresh name? What steps have you taken so far, could you tell me exactly what you've done so far?

Another thing to try is to close all programs, reboot your computer and then clear your temp files. Perhaps some of the files have a lock on for some reason.

I can't use save as because if I save as my .world file would be changed to a .package file D: I need it as a .world file to make sure it opens on create a world ):

Also, I've done all the the steps in the first tutorial up to the "SAVE, don't save as"

And how do I clear my temp files? O:

RE: S3PE Problem!
Oh, I see- this is an error in S3Pe? I was assuming it was an error thrown by CAW, my mistake.

Yes, I would definitely clear the temp files- are you on Windows 7?

yes my laptops running on Windows 7, I just did exactly as you said and deleted all my temp files, but somehow the s3pe create new ones that are used for the error that it gives me :/

I.e. I cleared all my temp files, but when I try to save again, s3pe create tmp899.tmp in the TEMP file and say it's being used by another program (and when I try to delete it the error says that s3pe is using it >_____<)

RE: S3PE Problem!
I see that you've posted in the S3Pe forum:
http://dino.drealm.info/den/denforum/ind...opic=779.0

Can you tell me in your words (use screenshots if you like) exactly what you have done, step by step? I know you are following the tutorial, but it's possible you are doing something slightly differently which is causing the error.

yes I did post there, but as you can see they told me to contact the tutorial creator ):

Here's exactly what I did:
STEP 1: I went into my WORLD file to find the city I want to transfer into create a world to edit

Step 2:I opened it using S3PE and selected all the file things and exported it all out into a file on my desktop O:

Step 3: I opened Create a world and created a world of large300 lush because the map I want to open is a large300 map O:

Step 4: I save that map and close create a world

Step 5: I open the map I made in CaW and imported all the files from the file on my desktop into the .world file opened. I make sure that only the 3 boxes as shown in the tutorial is checked.

Step 6: After it's done importing, I go to file and press SAVE...after it loads awhile it gives me the error message D:

That is everything I did step by step in my own words, without looking at the tutorial ):

Thank you for helping me D:

RE: S3PE Problem!
Do you press "Commit" before you save? It won't save uncommitted changes.

RE: S3PE Problem!
The error message you showed me looking lke you were trying to save to a temp file. At some point you had to have taken a wrong turn. You can't save to your %TEMP% directory. You could have done a Save As, but the point is I though you were meant to be editing a .world file anyway, so you had definitely taken a wrong step somwhere.
